Advice, Assistance... anything

Hello all.  I know my story is like many here, but I'm just so frustrated right now and need to vent.  I'm a single mother of an 8-year-old daughter.  In April, the business I worked for closed and my roommates moved out, leaving me to pay for a very expensive 3-bedroom apartment by myself with no income.  I do receive unemployment compensation and am actively seeking a new job, but unemployment and child support combined don't equal my rent.  I'm currently a month behind and received a call today from the rental office stating that if I don't catch up by the end of the week I'll be issued a 7-day notice to vacate.  I was under the impression that a person receives at least a 30-day notice, but today I'm told it's 7.

I've tried contacting agencies that offer rental assistance but there are so many people losing their jobs and in the same situation that I'm in I never receive calls back or any type of information.  I don't know what to do anymore, and I'm running out of options and time.  Does anyone know of any resources in Prince George's County, Maryland that can help me catch up on my rent and effectively help me find a job?  I'm an experienced Administrative professional with strong customer service and H.R. background.

Thanks for listening.
